Alta Badia

The picturesque Val Badia attracts tourists for its splendid landscapes, and for numerous activity sports, hiking and paragliding during the summer, snow walking and downhill skiing during the winter. The local hospitality and overall conditions won for the valley the award of Italian Touring Club.
Due to its location near the range Sella Ronda, the communities in Alta Badia are quite often choses as a base for numerous skiers, who want to conquer the famous Sella circle, and try runs in other ski resorts connected with Alta Badia : Arrabba, Val di Fiemme and Val Gardena. All these resorts are the part of Dolomiti Superski an impressive ski zone with over 1200 km of runs.

But even the slopes of Alta Badia alone can fulfill the needs of an avarage skier, who has here to try about 130 km of slopes served by 54 ski-lifts.
Some runs are utterly demanding, like famous for hosting World Cup competitions Gran Risa, and area of Piz Boe, which is also suitable for freeskiing fun.
On the opposite side of the resort skiers can enjoy the slopes of Santa Croce with marvellous views of almost all Dolomite peaks.

The centre of the ski interest is Corvara with the satellite Colfosco, which lies in the close distance to Sellaronda.
A bit further away are the small Ladin villages, which enjoy their own interesting zones. Pedraces is located under Santa Croce mountain,
San Cassiano has the lifts leading to Piz Sorega and wide slopes of Pralongia, and La Villa is the meta of the famous run Gran Risa.
